Introducing: Suriya!
Hello all! At the beginning of the new year, we welcomed our newest member to the buying team, Suriya Johora. Suriya recently graduated from the University of Missouri (Mizzou) in December 2018 with a degree in Textile and Apparel Management. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri (which is located right outside our HQ!), so she is happy that she was able to find a job close to home!
Here is a picture of Suriya in London, England! She completed an internship abroad to prepare her for this position while also getting to travel before graduation.
Suriya is very excited to have joined the buying team at Glik’s. She is currently the buyer of girls, boys, and infant and toddler’s clothes! She is looking forward to getting experience, learning new things about the buying process, and meeting new people.
Her first few weeks at her new job have flown by! She has been constantly busy with shadowing other buyers and writing new orders, but she is so fortunate to have found a position that allows her to do what she is passionate about. One of the things that Suriya is looking forward to in her buying position is traveling to New York to meet with vendors of children’s clothing! Traveling is her dream and wanderlust is her motto; so she’s grateful work allows her to travel a little bit! Speaking of traveling, while Suriya was at her internship in London, she was given the chance to visit Paris, France! This was her dream travel destination, and she is ecstatic she was able to check off that part of her bucket list at such a young age.
