It’s spooky season and we’re all starting to Google “easy Halloween costume ideas” so that we can throw something together for the upcoming holiday. (Come on, you know you did it too!) So, we’ve compiled a few trendy costumes in this blog for you so you’ll be ready for Halloween 2019! Most of these looks are made with items that you might already have in your closet. So, get ready to be inspired by five easy Halloween Costume ideas that you can just throw on and head out the door to your next party!
Let’s start with something simple: a Strawberry Funfetti Cupcake. Now, you might think this is a liiiiittle bit of a stretch, but we think that anyone will understand the vibe you’re going for if you wear a confetti sweater, a colorful skirt as the cupcake paper, and add a solid colored scarf as the icing! All you need in order to finish off the look is a candle which you can easily make from rolling some construction paper OR from a colored paper towel roll. How cute!!!
This year, something amazing happened in the world of cinema. Us ladies got to watch a Men in Black movie in the theaters that had a FEMALE STAR as the main character! Let’s commemorate this gender equality this Halloween with an easy, Agent M costume. All you need is a blazer, a button up white shirt, a black tie, black pants, a pair of black sunnies and you’re set! You can also carry around a pen and act like you can wipe people’s memories all night long. (Just don’t forget to put your sunglasses on before you use your “neuralyzer,” ok?)
So…. We know you’ve probably seen enough about VSCO girls, but you have to agree that it’s a pretty trendy topic for 2019! You will most likely have all the necessary items in your closet to become a VSCO girl for one night. But just in case, here’s the list of things you’ll need: an oversized t-shirt, shorts that will be completely enveloped in said t-shirt, thick banded sandals (preferably Birkenstocks or something similar), some scrunchies for your messy bun and to wear on your wrist, and last but not least, your handy-dandy Hydro flask!! 😊 Don’t forget to throw up a bunch of peace signs throughout the night, take a BUNCH of selfies, and if you really wanna get crazy you can say, “sksksks” outloud and talk about how much you want to save all the turtles in the world in order to get a few laughs from your group.
Just admit it, you’re ALSO obsessed with Stranger Things and you’re wanting to know, IS HOPPER ACTUALLY DEAD??? HE CAN’T BE DEAD, RIGHT??? The trailer for the new episodes just came out and we are all hoping that Eleven’s adorable adopted father is hiding somewhere in the next season. Since everyone is still thinking about it, why not show off your love for Hawkins by dressing as Eleven for Halloween this year? Just grab a light pink, knee-length dress, an oversized winter coat, a pair of tall white socks and white sneakers, and everyone will know that you’re trying to be the toughest, telekinetic teenager that Netflix has to offer. (It also wouldn’t hurt to grab a cheap blonde bob wig from your local Halloween store or party city and a box of Eggo waffles to complete the look.)
For our final look, we wanted to give you a costume that commemorates another amazing achievement for women in cinema that happened this year. In March, we FINALLY got a female-starring, Marvel Universe Superhero movie! Since it may be a little difficult to figure out how to dress in her full superhero bodysuit, we had something else in mind. This Captain Marvel undercover motorcycle outfit is the perfect costume for those of us that are wanting to embody our new favorite super heroin, but don’t want to shell out a ton of money just to wear an uncomfortable footie-pajama costume for an entire night! To create this look, just grab a grey baseball cap, a light graphic tee, a slightly oversized moto jacket, aviator glasses and some jeans. You can compare your outfit to the scene where she steals the jerk motorcyclist’s clothes so she can blend into her surroundings on Earth, and you’ll see the resemblance!
Hopefully these five costumes inspired you to look at what amazing pieces you already have in your closet so you can whip up a trendy costume for Halloween without spending a dime.
